Hi there,
I’m Erica Steward, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Highly Sensitive Person who truly enjoys the simple things in life. When I’m not supporting clients, you’ll often find me beach combing, browsing thrift stores for hidden treasures, or singing—music is a big part of my life.

I embrace every opportunity to learn and grow, whether through clinical supervision, peer consultations, post-graduate training, or personal therapy.
About Erica

With a deep-rooted belief in the capacity for healing, personal growth, and transformation, I am truly honoured to offer my support on your journey. Many people reach out to me when they feel stuck, struggle with placing their self-worth in the hands of others, or seek a deeper understanding of their emotions and behaviours. Regardless where you find yourself, I'll meet you there.

If you’re new to counselling, I completely understand the apprehension and uncertainty that can come with starting this process. I want to acknowledge how significant it is to take this step and reach out for support. Together, we can shine a light on what may be holding you back and create a meaningful plan to move forward.

My Approach
At the heart of my practice lies a collaborative, holistic, person-centered, and strength-based perspective. This is really just the foundation of my view that my clients are the experts in their own lives. They possess intimate knowledge of what it feels like to navigate a difficult breakup, experience shame for their sensitive nature or awaken to the grip of anxiety. They are well-acquainted with their past strategies of healing, and I firmly believe that within them resides invaluable wisdom to guide their recovery journey.

Furthermore, I don't believe counselling can be reduced to a one-size-fits-all model. The complexity of human experiences deserves careful consideration of numerous factors. Therefore, I draw upon a diverse range of modalities, meticulously selecting the most suitable approaches for each individual.
With this in mind, Internal Family Systems (IFS) is the main approach I use in my work. IFS views people as multidimensional, recognizing that we all have different aspects of ourselves—referred to as "parts"— with their own thoughts, emotions, and beliefs.

My goal as a therapist is to guide and support my clients in this journey of deep self-connection, helping them to listen to, understand, and ultimately heal the parts of themselves that may be carrying burdens, pain, or overwhelm. When we learn to relate to our inner world with kindness, we open the door to greater self-acceptance, balance, and inner peace.
